Jamila Mustafa was born in Wilmington, Delaware with aspirations of one day impacting the world. At the tender age of three years old, Miss Mustafa began martial arts training and soon became ranked #1 in the world for Kata (forms) by age eleven. In 2004, Mustafa booked her first national commercial and she hasn’t looked back appearing on networks such as Fox, MTV, A&E, BET and more.
Jamila’s competitive spirit coupled with her passion to inspire young women drove
her to participate in pageantry. In 2010, Mustafa was crowned Miss Delaware Teen Essence going on to win the national title of Miss Teen Essence USA – later becoming Miss Middle Town (Delaware) America and Miss Delaware State University placing 1st runner up at Miss HBCU competition.
Community outreach has always been a priority for the 24-year- old. Mustafa has received three resolutions from the state of Delaware’s city council. By the age of 18, Jamila became the youngest recipient of the Wilmington Award for Performing Arts gifted by former Mayor James Baker. Motivated by the loss her grandmother; Jamila adapted the platform of Juvenile Diabetes. Later becoming the youngest committee board member of the National Diabetes Association helping to raise over $80,000
In 2015, Mustafa traveled to Beijing, China with the JILI Project. It was there she created a documentary, coupled with published articles that took a closer look at how social media affected China’s entrepreneurs. Since then Mustafa has served as a content creator and host for various platforms.
Jamila has sat down with some of Hollywood’s biggest influencers such as Cicely
Tyson, Mark Wahlberg, Farrakhan, Zach Galifianakis, Paul Mooney, Taraji P. Henson,
Nas, Dave Chappelle, DJ Khaled, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Jimmy Iovine, and the list goes on.

The Delaware native was recognized as the top 40 under 40 women in media; BET’s
30 Under 30 Young, Black and Lit list, HBCU Buzz’s 30 Under 30 College Graduates, and Forbes 30 under 30 nominee and summit attendee.
Jamila believes, “Good things come to those who wait… great things come to those who work!”
